This is our first year purchasing from the 949-member Koperative y’Abahinzi ba Kawa ba Mabanza, an International Women Coffee Alliance chapter formed in 1998 and founded upon principles of sustainable agriculture and worker welfare.
Bourbon coffee grown using organic methods between 1460-1800 MASL; hand-picked and sorted for ripeness; floated; rested in cherry for 8-10 hours; pulped using a McKinnon 2-stage pulper; fermented under water in concrete tanks for 24-36 hours; fully washed; and dried on raised beds.
